Dear Bible Bowl Sponsor –   Please review the following material regarding the annual Bible Bowl and Beginner Bowl Tournament to be held at the Eastern Christian Conference (ECC) on November 16-18, 2018.  

The tournament will cover material from Fall Blocks 1 and 2 for both Beginner Bowl and Teen Bowl. We look forward to hosting this tournament in conjunction with the Eastern Christian Conference. Sadly, this is the last year that ECC will be having a conference at Hershey so we will be needing to decide if we want to do something differently for next year. But for this year, we plan to enjoy THE SWEETEST PLACE ON EARTH and go out with a bang!   

This tournament is a wonderful way for us to introduce Bible Bowl to more churches in our area and hopefully recruit additional teams to compete in the Tri-State League on a regular basis. We also love reaching out to teams from all across the country who like a review earlier in the Bible Bowl season. There truly is no better way to get our young people in the word than through the ministry of Bible Bowl. Our prayer is that the Bible Bowl ministry will get exposure through the Eastern Christian Conference and that many more young people can delve into God’s word on a regular basis.   

The format of the tournament will include a Round Robin and Double Elimination tournament.  Depending on the number of teams, we will either divide all of the teams into 2 brackets and do mini Round Robins that will determine seeding for the Double Elimination tournament, or all of the teams will play in a Round Robin and then proceed on to a Double Elimination tournament.  Your prompt response will assist us in planning.   

Team registration will be $60 per team. Individual registration will be $25 per person. Question fees will be $40 per team. We are encouraged to register all adult participants in the Eastern Christian Conference, as well. Rather than paying the adult price, however, we are able to register all adults for the same cost as student registration. Team fees, student, and adult fees are due upon registration. Registration is online this year through the National Bible Bowl site.   

Please register by October 26, 2018. The individual registration fee will register your students for the Bible Bowl tournament, as well as the convention itself. This allows them to participate in the Children and Teen Sessions. Information on the convention sessions is available online at http://www.gotoecc.com/ to help you in promoting the event. Lodging information for the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center can also be accessed through the ECC website. It is helpful for the conference if you can stay at the Hershey Lodge, but there are other hotels in the area. There are also many fast food restaurants in easy access of the lodge and convention center for inexpensive meals.   Team check in will begin at the Hershey Lodge on Friday afternoon, November 16, at 1:30 p.m. outside the Wild Rose meeting room. The Round Robin Competition will begin Friday afternoon/evening and the Double Elimination Tournament will begin on Saturday morning with finals being held in the afternoon. Schedules will be sent out as we know the number of teams participating.
