Dear Bible Bowl Sponsor –

Please review the enclosed material regarding the 1 st annual Shenandoah Valley Thanksgiving Tournament for

Bible Bowl and Beginner Bowl teams. For approximately 15 years, we have held a tournament at the Eastern

Christian Conference (ECC) in Hershey, PA. This conference is no longer meeting so we will begin a new

tradition this year at Church of Christ of Mountain View: 153 Narrow Ln, Winchester, VA 22602

The tournament will be held on Friday-Saturday, November 15-16. Teams are encouraged to stay to worship

together on Sunday, November 17. The tournament will cover material from Fall Blocks 1 and 2 for both

Beginner Bowl and Teen Bowl. We look forward to hosting this tournament and building a time of fellowship

and competition for our teams in the fall of the season.

We hope to use this tournament as a way to invite others in the Tri-State area to come and see what Bible Bowl

is all about. It has been a joy to watch the Hershey tournament grow. Last year we hosted 21 teams and we hope

to see that continue to grow this year! It has become a great gathering of teams from all across the country who

like a review earlier in the Bible Bowl season. There truly is no better way to get our young people in the word

than through the ministry of Bible Bowl. Our prayer is that many more young people can delve into God’s word

on a regular basis.

The format of the tournament will include a Round Robin and Double Elimination tournament. Depending on

the number of teams, we will either divide all of the teams into 2 brackets and do mini Round Robins that will

determine seeding for the Double Elimination tournament, or all of the teams will play in a Round Robin and

then proceed on to a Double Elimination tournament. Your prompt response will assist us in planning.

Team registration will be $50 per team. Individual registration will be $25 per person. Question fees will be $50

per team. Friday dinner and Saturday lunch and dinner will be provided to help with overall team expenses. A

block of rooms has been reserved at the Country Inn and Suites located across the street from the church for a

discounted rate. A link will be made available for making reservations. The motel has an indoor pool and

provides a full country breakfast included in the price. In addition, we will have a time of recreation built in for

team fellowship and a time of worship.

Please register by October 18, 2019. The Round Robin Competition will begin Friday afternoon and the

Double Elimination Tournament will begin on Saturday morning with finals being held in the early evening.

Schedules will be sent out as we know the number of teams participating.
